Volunteer at Stride Ahead

The programs we offer wouldn’t be possible without a devoted group of volunteers putting in hours at the barn. Stride Ahead volunteers include horse owners, horse lovers, students, and community residents who appreciate how horses can help humans. We’re always looking for good people to help us make a difference.

Depending on the physical, emotional, and learning challenges of the riders, a lesson may require up to six volunteers to provide safe, meaningful, and fun experiences.

In addition to helping with therapeutic riding lessons, interested volunteers have the opportunity to acquire and use horse care skills such as blanketing horses on cold nights and providing special care to unwell or injured equine partners.
